What was dark which you saw?

There is no light without darkness — as the wise says. Whenever I see a strong and clear person, I would like to know what steered them to be so. It’s a fact that they have gone through something to be so. As usual, some people are ready to reveal, and some aren’t comfortable, or I am not adept at asking the right questions for them to tell me what made them so.

All of us have stories in store that are quite revealing, sometimes inspirational, and often in the “not-to-emulate” category, too.

Let’s start with the spicy one. I know someone who lives by and fights every day. That’s how I assumed her to be for years. Someone who has been wronged in a relationship and who needs support and care is what I assumed her to be. We do not always understand each other, and now I regret being on her side. She had an acute illness, which she was fighting together with the family instability. I was amazed at her strength in doing all this and still being in a positive frame of mind. Something which is to be learned from. However, later, she realizes that her intentions are wrong, which is fuelling all of this. I would put it in the not-to-emulate category. However, how a person can be so bright and cheerful under such a very negative situation amused me.

Another example of a diamond coming out of the grind is someone who had challenged her younger days…
