So lets cancel the St. Valentine’s Day!
We are in the cancel culture, so why not for this trend too?
As history says, it started with the coincidence of celebrating Love only on one day; now, it’s a FOMO game. How can you not wish and shower gifts on this day?
But how have the brands taken to this trend of cancelling this, too?
Interestingly, Cadbury had been on this mission for the last few years; this year’s commercial is one of its best. They have given uncles the mission to make this day less vibey! Here it is

According to the stats, this celebration contributed US$25.8B to the US economy last year; this year, the prediction is US$27.5B. Chocolates continue to be the top gifting item, contributing US$4.6B. Flower sales are expected to be US$2.9B, and greeting cards US$1.4B. In India, the number was US$2.8B last year and US$3.2B this year.
Why would a brand that would benefit from it do this? To stand out! Maybe
And the same brand released this — #SayitwithSilk — as well. Catering to the mushy lot, I guess.

Now closer to my home , the ever — respected T G Ravi, yet another uncle, is here to bust the myth of Valentine’s Day and Love with Asianet, a Malayalam-language general entertainment television channel.

It’s interesting to see all these uncles vibing!
