Prompting is that activity that some of us or rather most of us enjoy or is something that is our way of being with others.

The manager prompts the subordinate about the deliverables or deadlines. The parent prompts the offspring about his ways of being from time to time. Spouse does the same to his/her partner for bills/chores.

Now we have the OpenAPI tool to prompt. Hope that relieves every other one of us and we can concentrate on the machine now to be our prompt acceptor. As the definition of prompting goes from the internet “The art of prompting is the act of giving instructions to an AI system to generate a specific output. It is a delicate balance between specificity and creativity, as prompters must find ways to guide the AI towards a desired result while leaving room for serendipitous discoveries.”

Do we include creativity in our real-life prompting, we don't we should try for that serendipitous discovery, maybe! But all others are intact, the act of giving instruction for a very specific output. I really doubt the balance part of specificity and creativity, most times we lose both, so that also can be a great ingredient to add to our concoction. In the OpenAI case, we are leaving room for certain things. Do we really do that in real-life situations… rarely! We could definitely try that too.

It's an art to learn these prompts and use the tool right. Applies everywhere, but is often not thought of.

Here in OpenAI systems, it could be seen as a collaboration between human prompters and AI systems and the possibilities are limitless and not as a threat, title we figure things out, the debate is on. Although in the human context prompting is rarely seen as collaboration. But as a forced activity, which leaves the doer with a lot of resentment.

The ethical implications of AI prompting are being hugely debated, while we never thought of the implications of the “other” prompting, may be a more dependent individual is the by-product.

Ownership of the product of prompting from AI systems is unclear, in the other it's hugely the doer's ownership altogether if it goes south, but in other cases, the prompter does glow in reflected glory.

Here in the ref document, they are touching upon the biases which can be seen in the prompted output, isn't in human scenarios it is always biased because it is what the prompter wants you to do, the doer is just another machine that is providing you your desired output.

Btw, the right way of prompting with imagination and preciseness seems to be a skill set that would be looked forward to possessing in the coming times. In fact, we all don't lack it at all, and just need to change it from grunts or eye-rolling to words, is that a big deal?
