Photos4Future — The day of culmination
So the day has arrived for the exhibition. We did everything to bring all things essential for this event to serve the purpose it should
The utmost is bringing awareness to the cause/initiative and making people shell out some monies for these artworks and thus contribute to sustained kids' education, channeled through www.hundred4Future.org.
Gratitude to all artists exhibiting with us
@wande_r_lust —Sreejith -He has shared his photos from different parts of India which add loads of colors to the exhibits.
@ravi_kanniganti — Ravi — Kenyan wildlife photos, that peeping zebra being a piece to look out for. Maybe if you put that up on the wall, you could feel that he is wanting to converse with you.
@arvindrthy — Arvind — Once more wildlife photos from across India. The magnificent elephants are shot in their natural habitats by him and they are a delight to see.
@midhun_das_ — Midhun — Black and White beauties. As he believes that the world exists in both minimalism and chaos and he finds beauty in both.
@karantraveller —Karan — His travel pictures, as the vagabond that he is, makes you pack your wares and get going.
@lthampi — Me, I like looking up, and stumbling on my walks. The best gain out of this is the pictures which I catch while looking up. Featuring some of the #lookingUp pictures from my walks.
@nivedita.photographer — Nivedita — Her travel shots bring glimpses of simple but beautiful locales. She is an eminent food photographer too.
@anirudh.arun — Anirudh, our youngest talent and he covers the wildlife as well. So many wild prowlers with us here.
In the journey of putting them together, there were many questions raised, answered and some left hanging too. There were some tough situations to handle and of course, loads of arrangements to be done to bring everything together. I tried making things fun by injecting creativity into the posts on social handles or drawing pleasure out of getting flowers for the event from the biggest flower market in Bangalore — K R Market.
The toughest to handle was associations with the event and otherwise to the cause for one's only gain. Had such a couple of instances, some artists sent in a request to associate and presented it as we give you the art, you just take care of the rest. This to my sometimes naive self was a great offer, which meant to me, you are wholeheartedly contributing your art to the cause and are not concerned about the outcomes and costs involved would be handled amicably. Here I go, the most naive I could get! When things started getting executed everything is hunky and dory and was satisfied to have gotten one of the eminent in our exhibition lists. That means that many followers of the artist would get to know of the cause and thus reach is good. This all goes bust when the money talks come. The artist assumed that his biggest contribution to the initiative is giving access to his art, of course, it is a great privilege. But to exhibit the same, there are resources needed, the foremost being the efforts before the art is hung there in the gallery. As I respected your effort to click that moment, something in me expected some respect for the efforts and time given to the rest of the process involved. To top it, the selling price was to be pocketed by the artist. So what is your real contribution to the initiative? If the intention was to just exhibit, that could have been any other venue. Isnt it? I jolted out of nativity and retreated my path, which wasn't taken well. The efforts the artist put in to give me the art, weren't honored was the pet peeve, and added to that I thwarted the plan of a visit to Bangalore as well. so there goes an association that was not well thought of and retreated from at the right time.
