Photos4Future — An initiative
You go to him with a problem, and he builds a solution for it that solves it beyond and more. That is what happened with how Pranav our son started Hundred4Future. I was discussing or rather reflecting with him to understand how could I help a house help of ours. She is a young divorcee with 2 small daughters. Now 5 and 14. A few years ago, when she was struggling to pay the school fees, she would come to me with a request for a loan, which was never repaid. I found it a bit irresponsible from her side to not save up for this essential need of hers and disrespectful to the loan.
On that discussion with Pranav, we came out with a solution to start a system where in she saves an amount every month for this purpose and we crowdfund a bit and help her to have a sustained education for her kids. That system turned out to be perfect, as it brought structure to her savings for this cause, and gave her control over her decision to send the kid to school. The burden is also reduced, because of the consistent savings and the crowd-funded element.
This gives the better-privileged us a chance to be part of young kids' education. On Hundred4Future we onboard, parents of the kids for education needs after careful background checks. The money which is the crowdfunded part + savings is dispensed to the education institution and never handed over to the parents as cash or cheque. This eliminates the leakage of money for other purposes. This also gives the donor a secure channel to be useful and be part of a kid's life. We are working at building a community where the donors are mentors to these kids, who needs that kind of support, considering their background.
With this premise, Pranav had been organizing funds for 2 kids of our help Venilla from 2019, which has become 40 + kids all over India by mid-2023. So the need for funds has increased multifold, and H4F is in need to look for more donors other than the friends and family who were pitching in for Pranav.
We are starting our series of fundraiser events on 23 July 2023, with a photo exhibition. We have curated an eclectic collection of photographers from all over India to exhibit their work and raise funds for this.
