Official Gossip Aunt onboard!
If not living below a big rock, we all are bombarded with AI shebangs everywhere. It is present in every newsletter sent by every brand, they all are extolling their allegiance to it. Ofcourse it's the need of the hour, some of the products are geared up to be AI compliant, and some just include it in their literature so that the buzzwords are in their literature and the marketing function is doing its job.
Whatever the condition may be right now, it is omnipresent. Any conference or brand endorsement needs to include it, just as they used to include sustainability or any other such trends. We could think of this too as — This too shall pass! Is it? AI bug seems to be something which would stay.
Now she has entered the most popular chat App, WhatsApp. WhatsApp has 3.031 billion monthly active users, and now we have a new assistant as they claim, or is it an intruder who looks into everything more intently ( Building a rich database, runs analytics and mine data for Meta)? So she is the unofficial Third wheel in every conversation, or the omnipresent gossip aunt?
In the Indian setting, she is everywhere, her intentions are very very pure, and she just wants to help, I am talking of the gaudy saree clad Gossip Aunty. She interjects her opinions into your conversations and absorbs the vital aspects of yours, while talking to you very emphatically on subjects, which are of interest to her. Like what is your preferences while shopping, whom do you refer to while shopping, whose advice do you take for makeup and which products are your favorite? Her mode of operation is to start like this, very beninegly. Once she has enough information and your confidence, she will nudge you to where she wants you to go. And you would follow her to it, as she has been around and gained your confidence too. The sly “Sootradhar”, can veer the conversation or your interests to where she has gains in. So here we are in the presence of her in our everyday conversation as well on whatsapp.
We are to see where is she veering us to, ofcourse more data mining and things to buy and hoard for sure is one of them. What else ?
