#MeToo but Why now ?

When the woman yells #MeToo some people around are responding to it so why now? Why didn’t she speak up that time and it’s consensual? She was in it then for her benefits and now the job is done, she is alleging now.
Yes, not denying such cases do exist and when reported hopefully our judicial systems are efficient enough to distinguish such cases and take necessary actions.
One clear thing is that… she is not reporting a loss of trinket, she is saying she is violated. In any society, once such things come out, there is a lot of stigma associated with it, which mostly women go through. Hence she would have contemplated on it at least 1000 times before she gathered the courage to come out and say it out loud. I know a lot of cases where people just do not speak of it and escape from further advances by being cautious. Let’s just not shame her.
The second thing is if she has reported now after a decade later or so, can we all agree by years passing we become more aware and mature? This brings in more courage and awareness of the faculties available for support. When she underwent this, she might have been a teenager or an employee who is in the lowest rung which means powerless and less aware. She is gathering all she has now and coming out. Let’s not trivilaize it.
So any #MeToo is valid, reported by any gender, let’s treat it with respect and no shame. Let’s bring in systems in place, so the ones who need to be ashamed of using their power for the wrong stuff are afraid next time, his urges pique.
