Empty Nest Series — 10 — Adaptability

Yoah.. Where did we land in… a city which doesnot sleep at all… a city which is 10x faster than our Mumbai… obviously much faster than our lives in Bangalore.

myclick

Newyork is facinating .. with its mix of people. Stand in a street corner and people watch… was facinated by that homeless who has a strolley as his only belonging, or that young taiwanese couple who potter around their young kid with a newyork hot dog.. or that african american kid who has piercing all over his face..he had one on his nose bridge ..atleast fifty all over visible face and his facinating braids made me think of its maintenance.. a septagenerian woman sporting confidently a super woman shirt .. or 80s couple liplocked in the park

its facinating and overwlehming both in one instance.

So much to adapt to. The campus being in city center makes it all vibey.. and a talking point but the moment you get out of your hostel, you could be encountered by a homeless either murmering his weedy thoughts or he may be furious at the world and he want you to be part of it or it could be a hooker who is trying to make her living. So wading through this is what you reach your college … literally jostling through a crowd which is running around with a cup of starbucks in 2x speed to the next sub.

time square

I am concerned as to how you would adapt to these various stimulis which can be super triggering. May be you would adapt to these and develop a zen which is for you to discover.

I am sure this experiance is gonna set you up at a different level to wade the choas and get to the crux… as you usually do.

But as usual it would be a lot of learnings and adaptation.

This could be the new age evolution I guess. How to find zen in choatic world … so that you survive. Here my wish is not for you to survive but thrive and find your own Newyork vibe.
