“I guess I have been busy — but not running away from myself”

One of her profound statements from many in this blog, made me rethink and jot down something I have experienced.

In recent times or many times in life, I was BUSY. Was it real business or was I running away from myself?

We tend to indulge ourselves in activities just to be busy so that we can escape from ourselves. This is from my scrappy experience of life, not necessarily for everyone!

In the initial years it was studying, then it was getting a job and settling in it. Then it was tending to my son that was my business… everything revolved around him and that defined the purpose. Once he wriggled out of the parenting loop of mine, I wondered what could be my “business” now. Still figuring that out, more adept at seeing and confronting my thoughts, my actions (as bizarre as they can be ), and my choices. Sometimes wallowing in every overwhelming thought of “How could I be (doing this/thinking like this/be so clumsy/many more)?”. Other times the ever-encompassing feeling dawns, can we (me and my inner critical self ) accept myself as this and move on? Quite a difficult task …. we are getting better at it.
