Alone or lonely

Being alone and feeling of loneliness are different things as understood recently

Alone means you are OK to be with yourself. Means you don’t get hysterically annoyed or bored and you won’t yearn for a company either physically or virtually.

Lonely … is actually a feeling were you are feeling isolated even when you are with people. Would someone’s company gives some solace then yes it could as a distraction or as a temporary quickfix.

From experience, which of the above is easy to navigate, is being alone than the other. Not that I am advocating being alone or such. But it’s a power to be alone and happy than just crave for company. Being alone means a lot of comfort with self and whatever thought which comes our way. It could be a very scary one at it, but it can be OK with it lingering around and sometimes also OK with the consequences or repercussions of it. It could sometimes result in panic attack which can be navigated by self care or it could be a binge eating or watching or even consuming some additives to numb for those tough moments, but aware that it will pass and would be fine in sometime. This “sometime” isn’t a finite amount ; it is also big knowledge that was gained by experience, and it can range from minutes to hours or to days and years. Of course, when it was years, desperacy does creep in and had gotten tough. But professional help did help that moment to train to bring it down to smaller intervals of despondency.

Being lonely can be a state when your belief in anyone or anything around is at the lowest. As directing it out than inwards, as it is majorly the confidence or belief or care for self, which is missing in a big way. But in that position, none of these would make sense and can have times when you would want to give it all up. Scary at that!! Hanging on and hoping for brighter moments and not exactly days was a way out of it.

It’s a matter of training to get “being alone” state. It’s quite liberating as most of what you think in that state is intuitive, idea filled and future laden.
